The Madeira Middle School 'Topping Out' ceremony will be this Thursday morning, November 3. The beam will be set above the new school's Media Center, so it can be viewed from the Miami Avenue side of the jobsite. To the best of our knowledge, the beam will be set at approximately 8:00 a.m. - plus or minus 30 minutes.
A “Topping Out” is when the uppermost steel beam is put into place, which means that the structure under construction has reached it’s highest point. The steel beam is decorated with an American flag and a small evergreen tree. The flag signifies patriotism and the evergreen represents life and growth of the building.
Thanks to everyone who came to sign the beam on Saturday, October 15. Your signatures will be on the beam for the lifetime of the school!!
